Top 10 Art Toys
One of the best things you can give your child is a creative outlet through Art.
Art toys and Art kits have given kids and adults the tools and inspiration to express themselves through visual means.
My six-year-old daughter loves to doodle and color, finger paint and play with anything where she can be creative and make her next work of art to hang on the fridge. I’m constantly on the lookout for items that she can use to expand the love of drawing and painting and decided to share some of our favorite choices in Art toys.
Some of these are picks from my own past, where I spent hours with pencil or markers in hand when I was younger. I mean, who didn’t have an Original Spirograph?

5) Cra Z Art Magic Spinning Art Machine
This Cra Z Art Magic Spinning Art Machine is similar to a Spin Art toy I had when I was growing up. I remember all the great designs I enjoyed making and hanging on my walls.

The set comes with the art spinner, paint and 8 sheets of paper. There is some question as to refill paper and paint from other customers, but there is another similar spinner from ALEX Toys that does offer a refill set, and a couple of comments mentioned cutting their own refills out of various paper from copy paper to scrapbooking paper.

3) Everythingland Mailbox
This Everythingland Mailbox has got to be one of the cutest art toys I have seen in a long time.
The plain white mailbox can be transformed into your child’s own custom mailbox, with paint, markers, crayons or whatever items your child wants to decorate it with.
Constructed of 100% recyclable & biodegradable sturdy corrugated cardboard, the mailbox will hold standard sized mail and stands just 24 inches tall.
Perfect for kids from 2 – 8 years old who love to get mail! Leave it inside their bedroom, play area or homework space. Would even be a great addition to Preschools and Kindergarten classrooms.
After your child decorates their very own special mailbox, you can teach them all about sending letters, thank you notes and maybe even leave them a bill for doing their laundry?
2) The Original Spirograph Deluxe Set
This drawing set has got to be one of the all time favorites for just about everyone I know. The Original Spirograph was the coolest drawing toy I ever had.
With all of the inner and outer discs and rings, the design possibilities are almost endless. I would spend hour upon hour with my colored pens and trying out all the different sizes to see what would show up on the paper next.
The Deluxe edition of The Original Spirograph has 45-pieces. It includes 19 wheels, 2 rings, 1 rack, spiro-putty, 3 pens, 14-page guide book, design paper and carry-along storage case.
It’s great to take along when visiting friends or family to keep the kids busy while you grown ups catch up. That is, if you don’t grab a pen and start drawing with the kids.
If you use it as much as I did, you’ll need a refill on the colored pens. Grab them on Amazon.com – Paper Mate InkJoy Advanced Ink Pens.
1) Sprayza Magic – Super Deluxe Set by Melissa & Doug
Sprayza is getting a lot of attention, and why shouldn’t it? This has got to be one of the coolest art toys to come out in years!
This one is on our birthday list, but it could be on any gift list because it is just that cool.
So, What exactly is Sprayza Magic?
Sprayza is a non-electronic, airbrush design kit. You just attach the blow attachment to one of the many colored Sprayza pens, and your mouth becomes an airbrush tool. How cool is that?
This is the deluxe kit, but there is also one I’m eyeing that is for creating airbrush designs on fabrics called the Sprayza Fashion Airbrush Kit, that is for creating the airbrush designs on fabric. Wouldn’t it be cool to design your own T-shirts and accessories? Yeah, I think so too. We might just have to get both sets.
The Super Deluxe Sprayza Magic kit shown at left includes 15 Sprayza pens, 4 Sprayza Magic pens, 1 Activator, 10 stencils, 20 sheets of paper and instructions.
