2018 Ultimate Gift List for 7 Year Old Girls
Have an amazing 7 year old girl in your life that you don’t know what to buy for this year? Don’t worry. We’ve got you covered.
Luckily for you, this toy blogger has a daughter, and she turned 7 this summer.
Not only is she awesome – (yes, I’m partial) but she really has her finger on the pulse of what girls her age are excited about right now. Besides, she has personal experience at being an amazing 7 year old.
Finding Gifts for 7 Year Old Girls can be easy this year if you found our list. All you will need is a general idea of your favorite 7 year old’s likes – and a budget in mind for your gift. We can help you with the rest!
Sammie’s Top Picks for Awesome 7 Year Old Girls Gifts
Sammie is my 7 year old daughter. She is my ‘go to’ for what toys are hot and on wish lists. When I needed ideas for other girls her age I knew right where to go. Who better to ask what a 7 year old girl would want as a gift than her?
We sat down on the porch and her list just kept growing. ( I found out later that she thought she was helping me make HER Christmas list. I had to tell her that it was for my toy site. Poor kid was crushed! )
Her number one pick? It’s pretty much a tie. I know… but she really does love both of these toys and plays with them daily.
So scroll on down a bit and we’ll give you her Top Five picks and then list the rest of her wish list below.
1.) Shopkins Happy Places Playsets – The Latest from Shopkins Toys
Moose Toys “Shopkins” have practically taken over this house it seems. I find them everywhere! I don’t quite ‘get it’ but she sure does. I don’t know if it is really the playing with them or the collection of them that is the big attraction for Sammie.
So what are these Shopkins? They are tiny toys made of like a rubber – pretty solid, but a little squishy – kind of like a pencil eraser feel. Most of them are less than an inch in size, and they come in all kinds of package choices. From the small 2 pack ‘blind boxes’ that she loves to the Mega pack and then there is dozens of others like 5 packs and 12 packs and play sets.
The Shopkins on her wish list this time is the Petkins variety that come in the Happy Places series of Shopkins toys.
The Happy Places Happy Home Play Set comes with the House, Poppette in ‘lil Shoppie’ size, and 9 petkins of various sizes. As of this writing, the Happy Home Play Set is priced around $30. So not too hard on the budget.
You can also buy additional petkins and lil shoppies doll figures separately. Sammie already has Rainbow Kate, but she also wants the other Welcome Packs like the ones below so she can fill the house with petkins furniture and accessories. Plus, she said “Poppette needs friends to play with Mommy”… These play set additions range in price from about $10-15 each, and the lil Shoppies dolls retail for around $7.

2.) LEGO Play Sets for Girls – Now There are More than Just “Friends”
Disney Frozen and Princesses Playsets
Hands down this is definitely going to be under our Christmas tree this year. Why? Because she got her first LEGO set for her birthday in June, and she hasn’t stopped playing with it. Every. Single. Day.
She got the LEGO Frozen Arendelle Castle Celebration from her dad and I. She had been asking for it for months but I just didn’t think she was ready for the responsibility of not losing all those little pieces. I finally gave in and bought it. Now it is seriously the most played with toy she has ever had.
The thing that blew me away the most about this play set, is that she put it together rather quickly considering the number of pieces (477 in all). She followed the graphic instruction book (which was huge!) and only made a few minor mistakes along the way. Once she tired of the castle was when it got really amazing. She builds different ‘scenarios’ daily. One day it was Elsa’s bedroom. The next day she was creating a magical garden for Anna. LEGO seems to have ignited her imagination to create and build just about any scene she can dream up.
The play sets below are the ones Sammie has specifically asked for, all Disney Princess themes of course, and I just hope I can find them all – I can’t wait to see what she will dream up with all those extra pieces!

3.) Shopkins Shoppies Dolls – Pint Sized Dolls for Play Time Fun
Sammie got two of the original Shoppies Dolls for her birthday in June. PeppaMint
and Poppette
. You can see them in the photo to the right.
The other 2 Shoppies from the original four were Bubbleisha and Jessicake
. But there are several more Shoppies dolls to choose from, and Sammie wants them all. ( But of course… <sigh>)
Each doll stands about 5 inches tall, and are really quite adorable. Each has her own shopkin accessories and comes with 2 Exclusive Shopkins.
** Update: Since original posting of this gift idea, Shoppies have have a lot of new Shoppies Dolls added to the lineup. I came across this one called Pirouetta and we think if you have a ballet student or fan, she is going to absolutely want this one. How could she not?!! How cute!
Pirouetta is an Amazon Exclusive Shopkins Shoppie doll, so I believe it is only available on Amazon.com.

4.) LEGO Elves & Friends – Building Play Sets for 7 Year Old Girls Gifts
As we started browsing Amazon for ideas, Sammie remembered that there was yet MORE LEGO sets she wanted. The LEGO Friends Heartlake Riding Club shown right is one of them. She won’t be getting all of them, I’d have to buy a bigger house.
Depending on the price and availability she absolutely insisted that I include sets from the LEGO Friends Series of building sets, as well as the newest LEGO Series for girls, Elves
.
I don’t mind spending the money on toys that have the longevity and timelessness like LEGO, plus I’ve seen first hand what these little LEGO building sets can do for my daughter’s imagination and creativity. I may have been a skeptic last year, but I’ve become a staunch believer in their value and quality.

5.) Project MC2 Dolls and Play Sets for Fun that is Educational Too!
Sammie received this Adrienne MC2 Doll and science experiment toy last year for Christmas.
She came with a stand so we could display the doll, and the volcano as well as a little dropper and the instructions on how to make her own ‘erupting volcano’.
I loved how a pretty ‘normal’ looking doll that Sammie could play with also gave her the opportunity to do some hands on learning that was fun too.
Many more dolls have been released since we first got Adrienne, and Sammie will surely be getting another one… or two.

Little Live Pets Snuggles My Dream Puppy
Little Live Pets became a favorite around our house last Christmas when Sammie got her “Cleverkeet” (which you can read about on our Cleverkeet review post).
Snuggles looks pretty adorable and if she loves him as much as she loved playing with “Sam” her Cleverkeet, we have a winner.
Sammie’s been wanting an ‘indoor pet’ for quite some time now, we got her some fish in an aquarium, but that just doesn’t quite satisfy her desire to play and snuggle a cuddly little pet.
We have outdoor cats, and due to allergies we are unable to have a fluffy cuddly pet in the house. Both she and I are both allergic to the cats and can only pet and play with them in small doses and then come inside and take some antihistamine to ease the sneezing and itchy eyes and throat. I’m hoping that Snuggles will help ease her desire for the living indoor pet some, and give her the next best thing. Besides feeding him should be pretty cheap unless you count his battery consumption… hmmm. Better stock up on some rechargeable batteries too.
You might include these little cuties… Sammie has the Cleverkeet already and you can read more about it on our Cleverkeet Post

4.) Breyer Horses & Play Set Accessories
When Sammie started talking about Breyer Horses I was a bit surprised. I didn’t even know she knew what they were.
You see, Sammie is a bit of a youtube addict. So she discovered these classic horse toys online. She got all excited talking about them, telling me of the different ones she saw and thought they were so beautiful.
Little did she know that Breyer Horses were one of my favorite toys growing up. The memories her enthusiasm brought up sure did bring a smile to this Mommy’s face. The apple really didn’t fall far from the tree with the love of horses, and I’m sure there will be a horse and rider or two along with the Classic Country Stable – I don’t think I will mind playing along with her a time or two.

Sammie’s List of Gifts for 7 Year Old Girls Just Keeps Growing!
Now that she has covered the top of her wish list, Sammie keeps coming back with more toys to add to it. I’m absolutely positive that she is not going to get everything on this list, but it does offer a peek inside the mind of an average 7 year old girl and the things that make them say “Ooooh! I want that!” So, if the items on the top of Sammie’s list don’t fit with the interests of your seven year old girl, maybe one of the many ideas below will do the trick.

Barbie. Beloved since her creation in the 1950’s, she is going strong and still has the ability to attract and entertain girls from ages 4 to 12 years old. Sometimes even older!

Sammie Loves Educational Toys Too!
I love when I can find a toy that is not just for fun. STEM educational toys make learning part of the fun. How? By introducing basic fundamentals of science and technology to girls (and boys) through play. As a parent, I think it is awesome that kids will be able to learn core principals of educational building blocks and they don’t even realize they’re learning. For them it is just plain fun. I’m sure I will be picking up one or more of these toys with great reviews and score high marks from parents and kids alike.

My Little Pony Toys are Great Gifts For 7 Year Old Girls
My Little Pony toys have been multiplying in our house for years now, and Sammie hasn’t tired of them yet. She has about 30 of them, or more… Different sizes, varieties and even a couple of the playsets. She loves taking them in for bath time play as well as out in her garden, the pool and of course in her room. When she has to go someplace like her Mimi’s or cousin’s house – the ponies go in the bag of toys. She has even been using them as part of her make believe scenarios in her LEGO Arendelle Castle we mentioned at the top of this list. You can’t go wrong with anything My Little Pony when it comes to your 7 year old girl’s gift list.

(Shown right) like the one Sammie got last Christmas.
These days that is just a sample of the kinds of food toys to be had. Candy, Cupcakes and so much more can be made by a 7 year old – with a little help from a grown up of course.
If your 7 year old girl (or boy) loves to help in the kitchen, then a toy that enables them to become the next Iron Chef should be on your list too!

Arts & Crafts Gifts For 7 Year Old Girls
Sammie’s older sister is pretty talented when it comes to artwork. And now Sammie is exploring her own artistic talents as well. She loves to draw, and she creates things that amaze me. Her latest foray is creating paper dresses and outfits for her Princess Dolls and My Little Pony toys. She loves to paint, and draw, but she also likes paper crafts and bead crafts.
We will continue to introduce her to crafts and projects that will help her develop her skills and spark her imagination on several levels. These creative projects awaken her problem solving and planning skill. Besides, she really loves playing and pretending to be a real artist.
